Enhanced Clutch Setup: The new YXZ1000R SS features a new clutch setup with an all-new hub with radiating fins, added oil-lubrication ports for maximized heat dissipation, and new YCC-S programming to provide increased clutch durability.
Fully-Adjustable FOX® Shocks: The YXZ1000R SS features FOX® 2.5 Podium® RC2 shocks with dual-spring-rate adjustable crossovers. High-Flow Intake & Exhaust: Any engine needs to inhale clean air and exhale as efficiently as possible. The YXZ’s high capacity intake system features dual air filters—one oiled foam, one viscous paper—for maximum airflow to the engine as well as durable filtration for the dirtiest riding environments. The three-into-one high-volume exhaust system centralizes weight distribution and is tuned to provide maximum power across the rev range.
Industry-First 998cc Three-Cylinder Engine: Designed to bring a Pure Sport riding character like nothing else in the Side-by-Side world, the YXZ engine was built to deliver high-revving power with the character only an inline triple can provide. With a compact, counterbalanced, DOHC cylinder head, a 11.3:1 compression ratio and dry-sump lubrication, the YXZ1000R SS offers exceptional power and durability.
Large 29-inch Maxxis® Bighorn® Tires: The YXZ1000R SS mounts large 29-inch Maxxis® Bighorn® radial tires that offer optimal ground clearance, traction, durability, and off-road precision. These tires are mounted to durable, yet lightweight 14-inch alloy wheels.
New Six-Speed Sequential Transmission: With the new industry-exclusive six-speed Yamaha Auto Shift Technology, drivers can choose between three transmission modes through a new dash-mounted dial: AUTO—a fully automatic mode for more relaxed driving; SPORT AUTO—a more spirited, fully automatic mode that holds gears longer and shifts at higher RPMs; SPORT SHIFT—traditional manual sport shift offering drivers full control of shift-points through steering-column mounted paddle shifters. Additionally, a new 40% lower first gear improves low-speed performance, while the enhanced close-ratio gearing helps keep the engine in its optimal power band.
